If you're looking for a culinary adventure without leaving the parking lot, Lamas Peruvian & Mexican Food Truck in Half Moon Bay is the hidden gem you need to discover. Nestled at 240 Capistrano Rd, this vibrant food truck promises to transport your taste buds straight to the heart of South America and Mexico with its rich flavors and irresistible dishes.

Specializing in both Peruvian and Mexican cuisine, Lamas serves up a delightful variety of comfort food that appeals to both the adventurous eater and those seeking a taste of home. Customers rave about their Quesabirria Tacos, which are an absolute must-try. These tacos are filled with juicy, slow-cooked meat, perfectly seasoned to melt in your mouth, all wrapped inside a crispy tortilla that’s golden brown and irresistible. Another crowd favorite is the Burrito Bowl, featuring fluffy cilantro rice that infuses each bite with freshness and flavor, making it an enticing choice for health-conscious diners who don't want to compromise on taste.

But don't stop there—Lamas' menu is a tribute to authentic Peruvian cuisine showcasing dishes like Lomo Saltado and the remarkable Pescado a lo Macho. The lomo saltado, a beloved dish that combines stir-fried beef with fresh vegetables and spices, is described as being "well seasoned" and satisfying. The Pescado a lo Macho, priced at $23, is another highlight that's worth every penny; it features succulent seafood that's been masterfully prepared to provide a delightful surprise to the palate. Patrons like Elrik Jundis have mentioned that the seafood quality is excellent, which is saying something for a food truck! To wash it all down, don’t miss out on their refreshing hibiscus drink, noted as the best by several customers for its subtle hints of cinnamon.

The dining atmosphere adds to the experience, with a casual vibe perfect for enjoying your meal at one of the small tables out front. However, please bear in mind that dining at the truck may not be the best choice due to the typically cool coastal climate. Instead, why not park your feast over at nearby Hop Dogma where you can enjoy a more comfortable setting?

Despite some chatter about the service being a bit slow, it's clear that this family-run food truck prioritizes quality over speed. As Lani D remarked, “The food is amazing!”—and with addictive Peruvian cookies also on offer, you’ll want to leave room for dessert.

In a community filled with food options, Lamas Peruvian & Mexican Food Truck stands out for its dedication to authentic and delicious dishes prepared with love. So why wait? Grab your friends, head over to Lamas, and prepare for a flavorful feast that you won't soon forget!

The Quesabirra Tacos are AMAZING! I also really like the Burrito Bowls with Cilantro rice. The Peruvian Cookies are also addictive!

The actual restaurant is no longer formally operating, but this truck still serves up the same menu. Their empanadas are tasty and I enjoy their lomo saltado. It's always well seasoned. Bit of a language barrier sometimes, though. They have some tables in front if you want to eat there. No restrooms, but you can take a short walk to the public restrooms on the pier or use the ones in the shoppes if you're privy to the door codes

Very good food. A little pricey. It's a food truck, in a parking lot, in a place that's usually a little cool, so I wouldn't recommend eating there but you could take the food over to Hop Dogma.

Was not expecting seafood of this quality. Mind delightfully blown - do not miss the Pescado a lo macho ($23). Was only taking a look and was already kinda full so split it between two folks. Ended eating it all. Also their hibiscus drink was the best I ever had... With hints of Cinnamon. After you order, expect a little wait because they are doing the finishing cooking to make it perfect. Do not take out! Eat it right away to experience seafood cooked perfectly!
